Perry Township is seeking a full time road department worker to fill a job opening.

Public Service Maintenance Worker (Roads)
Perry Township – Full Time Position
$14-16/hr depending on experience

Eligible Persons:

  • At the time of application and appointment, applicant must have:
  • A High School Diploma or GED and a valid State of Ohio Driver’s License with a safe and acceptable driving record.

Special Conditions:

  • Appointees must obtain a CDL B endorsement within the first year.
  • Have a drug screen when hired and submit to random drug screen thereafter;
  • Agree to a criminal history check.

Description of Job Duties:

Road worker performs a variety of task related to the maintenance and repair of roads, grounds and structures. Employee is expected to mow grass, plow snow, trim trees, repair manholes, catch basin, tile and other types of rough masonry construction; maintain signs, assist in loading and unloading transported materials; service and clean equipment. Employee is expected to operate heavy equipment including but not limited to backhoe, grader, dump truck and mowing tractor. Excavation of ditches and aerial work in a bucket truck may be required on occasion. Also have the ability to safely lift 60 lbs.

Pay Rate and Fringe Benefits: $14-16/hour depending on experience with annual increase where applicable. Payment is on a bi-weekly basis. Fringe Benefits include vacation pay, sick leave, holiday pay and employer contributions to Ohio Public Employer’s Retirement System. No health insurance is offered. Normal working day is 7:00am-3:30pm. Applicant must be willing to work overtime during incremental weather and other situations.
