WHEREAS, Robert F. Murphy will be honored by Perry Township Trustees for his dedication to Perry Township on December 4th, 2018 during the Trustee meeting; and
WHEREAS, he was born November 28, 1943 in New Orleans, LA. He moved to the area and graduated from Wapakoneta High School in 1961; and
WHEREAS, he joined the United States Army and served in the reserves for six years; and
WHEREAS, he became the husband of Connie Messer on March 19, 1966 and this marriage was blessed with two children. Two surviving children include Craig Murphy and Melissa Slone. He also has six grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, in addition to being a husband and father, he was active in the community of Perry Township for many, many years. He served as Zoning Inspector for Perry Township for 18 years; Volunteered with Perry Fire Department for 14 years; and a Perry Township representative for Allen Water District for 18 years; and
WHEREAS, during his lifetime, he demonstrated in countless ways his dedication to the Perry Community and has earned the respect and affection of people from all walks of life and all ages. He was often referred to as Perry Township “Mayor”; and
WHEREAS, Bob has been a force for good and a stabilizing influence in our community during his life. Bob passed on November 17, 2018 but will not be forgotten;
NOW, THEREFORE, We, Norman Capps, W. Kevin Cox and Gregory Kessen, Board of Perry Township Trustees, do hereby deem it an honor and pleasure to extend this Certificate of Recognition to Robert F. Murphy family.
