Proclamation Robert (Bob) L. Burgess
WHEREAS, Robert L. Burgess will be honored by Perry Township Trustees for his dedication to Perry Township on December 4th, 2018 during the Trustee meeting; and
WHEREAS, he was born March 3, 1926 during a very bad winter storm, and has been a resident of this community since birth; and
WHEREAS, he was a WWII Veteran; and
WHEREAS, he became the husband of Ruth Dackin on November 23, 1947 and this marriage was blessed with four children. Three surviving children include Debbie Fox, Daniel Burgess and Dale Burgess. One infant son Christopher Burgess died shortly after birth. He also has eight grandchildren, twenty two great grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, in addition to being a husband and father, he was active in the community of Perry Township for many, many years. He served as an elected official as Clerk for Perry Township, as Zoning Inspector for Perry Township; Volunteered with Perry Fire Department; Perry School bus driver and 4-H advisor for over 20 years; and
WHEREAS, during a long and productive lifetime, he has demonstrated in countless ways his dedication to the welfare of others and has earned the respect and affection of people from all walks of life and all ages;and
WHEREAS, Bob has been a force for good and a stabilizing influence in our community during his life. Bob passed on October 13, 2018 but will not be forgotten;
NOW, THEREFORE, We, Norman Capps, W. Kevin Cox and Gregory Kessen, Board of Perry Township Trustees, do hereby deem it an honor and pleasure to extend this Certificate of Recognition to Robert L. Burgess family.
